The Ecumaster Battery Isolator is a motorsport master relay device designed for FIA-compliant battery isolation and engine shut-off. The unit is built for tough motorsport environments and weighs only 83 g. With a fully solid-state design and no mechanical components, long lifespan and high reliability are ensured.
The device features built-in protection against alternator load dumping without the need for external components. There is no risk of damage to costly electronics during an emergency shutdown. The isolator is controlled with two external switches and can be turned off with a CAN bus message. The message can be sent from an Ecumaster PMU16 unit upon collision or other events. The unit is configurable via CAN bus.
It also sends diagnostic information that can be used by other equipment and is valuable during the unit's installation and diagnostics. It is fully protected against overheating and overcurrent. The status of the unit is indicated by a multi-color LED light.
